Our kindergarten is a child centered institution that offers an integrated curriculum that borrows from different systems. We use the Montessori and the International Curriculum method, while still following the Kenya Pre-School curriculum to ensure that the children are well prepared to join class one. This in effect entrenches versatility in readiness for a dynamic world.
Our centre of approach is to provide a nurturing and child-friendly based learning environment that helps the little ones have a strong foundation of character and values.
All lessons cater to the child’s physical, intellectual, language, emotional and social development. At the end of the child’s kindergarten experience, they will be able to join a primary school of choice due to their exposure to a well-rounded foundation.
Brookshine schools opened its Primary section in January 2018 with Grade 1 to Grade 4 now available. We believe in nurturing the unique capabilities of each child. By offering children an environment designed to stimulate growth in critical areas of early childhood development; intellectual, physical, social and emotional, we pave the way forward for a lifetime of learning.
Our curriculum incorporates a commitment to stimulate different styles of learning. We firmly believe in the combination of a structured environment that includes center-based learning with individual learning and play. As such, our classrooms are equipped with traditional and Montessori materials and daily activities are varied, with academics and the arts.
We offer a comprehensive 8-4-4 curriculum built on a student- centered culture, a comprehensively supportive infrastructure manned by a committed teaching staff. Brookshine school helps connect classroom learning with real-world applications and future career opportunities. Everyone’s path is different. Our curious and imaginative students exhibit critical thinking and problem solving skills. They are effective oral and written communicators and can effectively analyze information. As 21st century learners, our students effectively use technology as our teaching approaches incorporate modern technologies.
Brookshine School offers the British Curriculum, O level (I.G.C.S.E). The curriculum is designed to meet the educational needs of students from different backgrounds and even nationalities so that they can have a global experience and perspective to issues. The school has invested heavily in staff, teaching materials and infrastructure.
We offer this curriculum from year 7 to year 11. The O-level IGCSE examination is done at the end of year 11. The subjects offered are as follows: Languages –First Language English, O level English, French, Swahili; Sciences –Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics; Humanities – Geography, History, Religious studies, Literature in English; Technical and Vocational -Computer studies, Business studies.
